一月三日星期四 January 3, Thursday - A Day

Today Chinese Level II and III we learned the following words....
qǐ = take (up)
bào zhǐ = newspaper
kàn jiàn = see
duō = a lot (of)
xiǎng le bàn tiān = thought/wondered for half a day (a long while)
guài = weird
chuān = rivers
shuō dào = say
rán = suddenly

After we introduced the new words, we used the small whiteboard to practice these words. First we practiced these words with English meaning and pinyin, and then we practiced them without English meaning and pinyin. At the end of the class we did a quick quiz and it's about 70% of students get 70% correct. We didn't reach our objective - at least 80% of students get 80% correct but we still have a story to work on plus reading and writing. At the end of the next week, it should be a piece of cake that 80% of students get 80% correct.

After the introduction we used the small whiteboards to practice the months in pinyin, Chinese characters and their English meaning. After the whiteboard activities we practiced the calendar package.
