二月十一日星期一 - February 11, Monday- B Day

FOR ABSENT LEVEL I STUDENTS - #1, please copy down the following Chinese words we learned in class, #2, Google search about Chinese New Year Legend and write down 10 facts about it. Show the teacher your notes and the facts.

Today we first reviewed the words on animals and then we introduced the new words after we did the calendar such as 
今天是幾月幾日jīn tiān shì jǐ yuè jǐ hào = what day is today?
今天是二月十一日jīn tiān shì èr yuè shí yī rì = Today is Feb. 11
昨天是幾月幾日zuó tiān shì jǐ yuè jǐ hào = what day is yesterday?
昨天是二月十日zuó tiān shì èr yuè shí rì = yesterday is Feb. 10
明天是幾月幾日míng tiān shì jǐ yuè jǐ hào = What day is tomorrow?
明天是二月十二日míng tiān shì èr yuè shí èr rì = Tomorrow is Feb. 12

新年快樂xīn nián kuài lè = Happy New Year
恭喜發財gōng xǐ fā cái = Congrats and Wish you fortune/rich
恭賀新禧gōng hè xīn xǐ = Congrats and Wish you new luck/happiness
大吉大利dà jí dà lì = Wish you great luck and fortune. 

For 5th period students we first reviewed the animals words and used the small whiteboards to practice, and then we introduced the new words. Next, we watched and discussed the Chinese New Year's superstition, habits, and food. 6th period students first reviewed the animals words, and did the quiz on animals. Next we introduced the new words. Students worked as pairs and worked on searching the information about Chinese New Year Legend and writing down 10 facts about it. After that we discussed the facts. Last we watched the video.
