6th period Chinese Level II October 2, 2014 Thursday

Today I projected the quiz on the screen for students to do the quiz but students shared that they didn't learn them last time. Last time we reviewed the words, they said. So even though we did the quiz but I didn't score them.

6.   (jīn)(huáng)() (golden/blonde)

Next we read the story. Students read the story independently and write down the words they don't know on the whiteboard. We discussed the words they don't know. After the discussion, students read the story again on their own and see how much they got from the story. Next, students read aloud to themselves up to 2 minutes. And then they paired up and retold the story. Since lots of students didn't know how to say the story with the details, we drew pictures on the board for students to read the pictures and to retell. Before retelling the story, they read aloud to themselves again up to 2 minutes. This time is better. At the end of the class, those students who answer the questions about the story and the words' English meaning and vice versa received extra tickets for extra credits.
