April 16, Monday 四月十六日星期一 -- A Day

Today some students complained about their 'missing' calendar presentation which they haven't done yet but is marked "missing". I explained to them that once I put "missing" on this assignment, students would be reminded that they needed to work on presentation; otherwise, at the end of the term or the semester Iplace "missing" by that time, their grade would become ugly.

Today the purpose of our lesson plan is to help students familar with typing and recognize Chinese characters.
1st period students after the calendar introduction, we set the 2 groups; one Chinese Level II and the other Chinese Level III. Chinese Level III type the story without pinyin while Chinese Level II students worked on reading the story and answering the questions to the story. Chinese Level III had lots of questions about Chinese characters and typing Chinese, so Chinese Level II only had 15 minutes to type.

2nd periold students did the same things but since there were fewer students so every student had one laptop to work on. 3rd period students were separated into 2 groups; one group worked on answering the questions and the other worked on typing and after 30 mintues later they switched. 3rd period students typed the story on page 52 of the textbook "I Love Learning Chinese" 我愛學中文 第一冊.
