We first reviewed the old words and then learned the new words.
(xiàn)(zài)    = now
(shù)(shàng)  = in the tree
(zài)(shù)(shàng)  = in the tree
()(shàng)  = on the floor
(zài)()(shàng)  = on the floor
()(rán) = suddenly

(shēn)(shàng)(dōu)(shì)(shuǐ) = water all over the body

After we taught these words with TPR/ASL, the teacher first acted out and said the story and students listened first. And then the teacher acted out and said the story in Chinese while students chorally translated into English. Later the teacher acted out the story while the students said the story in Chinese. 

Next we worked on reading the story on the page 49 of the textbook. We first chorally read aloud and then the teacher said it in Chinese while students said it in English. Later the teacher used TPRStoryingtelling circling questions for the student's choral response. And then we did the individual questionings. 

Next, students read aloud up to 2 minutes first and then the students were asked to read the story up to 2 minutes to their partner and took turn. After that the students were asked to retell the story for 1 minute and then took turn in pairs. Next, students were to draw 4 pictures to present their comprehension. When they were done their picture drawings, they retold the story to their partner according to the pictures.
