十一月六日星期三 November 6, Wednesday - A Day

For Chinese Level II & III students we were learning 3 science words because we are going to Syracuse Elementary 4th grade's classroom this Tuesday where they are learning the science. We first watched the video about the igneous rock, sedimentary rock, and metamorphic rock.  Next we reviewed the old words. Later we worked on two stories and students read the pictures and retell the story.

(huǒ)(chéng)(yán) = igneous rock

(shuǐ)(chéng)(yán)  = sedimentary rock

(chén)()(yán) = sedimentary rock

(biàn)(zhì)(yán) = metamorphic rock

For Chinese Level I students, since I had a doctor appoint so a sub is here to help the students.

1.     Ask the students to copy down the words onto their notebook; Chinese characters, pinyin and their English meaning. Please make sure every students stay on the task. (Some students would just copy down the pinyin and English, not Chinese characters.)

2.     Watch the video and tell the students they will have to make a tally each time they hear the words on the board and shown in the video, and see how many these words are repeated in the video.

3.     If there is any time left, please let them check with their neighbors and see how many times they hear these words shown in the video.

4.     Please ask them to put up the chairs on the table before they leave and pick up any trash around their sitting area.

5.     Please feel free and call me if there’s any questions or concerns.
