十月十日星期四 October 10, Thursday - A Day

For Chinese Level I students, we first switch the seating as a whole class. And then we reviewed the days of the week. Next we played games. Before the end of class dismisses we did the quiz.
Call out Game...
Materials:  7 flashcards with the days of the week.
Play --
1. Groups of 3-4, and have 2-3 sets of 7 flashcards.
2. Each group assigns a role of the dealer and the recorder (the same person.)
3. Students take turn to be the dealer.
4. Time 2 minutes. The dealer flip over the flashcard, and the other 2-3 students read the card in Chinese and say it in English. When 2 minutes is up, another student to be a dealer and flip over the flashcard and the other 2-3 students read the card in Chinese and say it in English. (Repeat this until each member of the group's done being dealer.)
5. This time the dealer flip over the flashcard, and the other 2-3 students read the card in English and say it in Chinese. Still time 2 minutes, and repeat the steps until each member of the group's done being a dealer.
6. Next, the dealer flip over the flashcard and asks "今天星期幾?" and the other 2-3 students has to answer the questions with "今天是星期......" with the day of the week shown in the card.
We did the quiz, and over 80 % of students receive 80% of scores.

For Chinese Level II &III students, we first switch the seating as a whole class. And then we reviewed weather and the season. Next we played games. Before the end of class dismisses we did the quiz.
5-chess Game (it's a game like tic-tac-toe but instead of 3 in a row. This game is for 5 in a row.)
Materials: a piece of paper with grid.
Play:
1. Student A ask 天氣怎麼樣? And student B answers "今天天氣很涼爽' and mark the "O" or"X" on the spot.
2. Take turn to ask and answer and mark; the first who has 5 the same mark "O" or "X" win the game.
