Today we had much better classes compared to Tuesday. For Chinese Level I we first introduced three words : 比薩 好嗎 抓 Last time the 2nd period students didn't learn 短 高 矮 頭髮 so we placed these words on the boards for them to learn. We used PQA to practice these words and had a great fun. After PQA, we used small whiteboards to practice the words and then we read a story as a whole class. And then we played 五子棋. My students love the game and practiced speaking Chinese at the game.
比薩 bǐ sà = pizza
好嗎? hǎo ma = okay?
抓 zhuā = grab
長cháng = long
短 duǎn = short
高 gāo = tall
矮 ǎi = short (height)
頭髮tóu fà = hair
For Chinese Level II & III, we learned the new words about 運氣 怎麼這麼...午睡 睡午覺 怕 害怕 恐怕 吵 吵醒 After that, we read a story on paper and read it again with TPRS circling questions on a powerpoint,and then students were asked to draw pictures to the story. Next, those who were done first were asked to pairs and folded the story off and just pointed at the pictures and to retell the story in their own words.

午睡wǔ shuì = nap
睡午覺 shuì wǔ jiào = take a nap (at noon)
怕 pà = fear, (be) scared, (be) afraid
害怕hài pà= fear, (be) scared (of)
恐怕 kǒng pà = (be) afraid (of)
吵 chǎo = noise
吵醒 chǎo xǐng = wake up by noise
