八月二十七日星期二 - B Day

Today is the first B-Day of school.  Lots of students are still learning to get used to the new schedule and 'homecoming'. :) Especially 7th graders. As a teacher I have a great time today in class. For Chinese level I students, We first introduced the disclosure, And then we introduced 你好! We didn't have enough time to introduce " 你hǎo ma ?" yet definitely we will continue to work on next day we see one another.
Activity 1 --Students were asked to write their English name on a half-folded cardstock paper and drew what they like on the left of the paper and what they don't like on the right.
Activity 2 -- we did the self-introduction using shì ........(= I am ……. ).
Activity 3 -- we tossed a ball around the classroom to practice the conversation hǎo   (= Hello) and asked a question shì shéi ? (= Who are you?)
Of course, the teacher did the example first, and then we practice, and the last students performed by themselves.

Conversation goes like this
Student A: hǎo ! shì Emerson, shì shéi ?  (Toss the ball to a student across the classroom)
Student B: hǎo ! shì Kyler. (Toss the ball to another student across the classroom and ask...)shì shéi ?
Student C: hǎo ! shì Betheny.(Toss the ball to another student across the classroom and ask...)shì shéi ?
Student D: ......

For Chinese Level II & III students.....,
It seems we had more relaxing and talkative today than yesterday.
We first introduced the disclosure,  and gave students the goals.
Activity 1 --Students were asked to write their English name on a half-folded cardstock paper and drew what they like on the left of the paper and what they don't like on the right.
Activity 2 -- we did the self-introduction using shì ........(= I am ……. ) or 我wǒ de míng zì jiào ....(= my name is....), wǒ xǐ huān ....(=I like....), wǒ bù xǐ huān....(= I don't like....) in Chinese.
Of course, the teacher did the example first, and then we practice, and the last students performed by themselves.
We learned  小賈斯汀,女神卡卡,買,賣,褲子,長,短,內,長褲,短褲,內褲。Due to the time limited we just quickly went through the words and didn't have enough time to really got into them. Not mentioned acting out the story.
We used PQA asking 小xiǎo Jiǎ ting 帥shuai不bu 帥shuai (handsome or not)? Lots of students don't think 小xiǎo Jiǎ tīng 帥shuai! It's interesting.
