To let the students be more familiar with the words 突然 and 身上都是, we used the story line of Chinese Level I but we take out some pinyin first for students to recognize Chinese characters. Students took turned to read the story with some pinyins missing first.

他喜歡在樹上睡覺。
一天,他爬到樹上睡覺。
突然,下雨了,下大雨。
男孩身上都是水。
有一個男孩。
他喜歡在樹上睡覺。
一天,他爬到樹上睡覺。
突然,下雨了,下大雨。

After we had some students these and then we took more pinyin out and students read aloud, and then we took all the pinyin out and students aloud. Later we had students write down the story with pinyin by looking at the Chinese characters on a piece of paper. And then we TPR the story named 海水髒了。The teacher first said the story in Chinese and the students chorally translated into English. The teacher did the motions while the students said in Chinese. And the we did the TPRStorytelling circling questions. And then we did the time-reading 3 minutes to read the story two times for the goal.

John有一只貓。John和他的貓住在海灘旁邊。他們住在一棟白色的房子裏面。
John在海灘上吃冰淇淋。突然,他的貓跳到他的身上。冰淇淋弄到了貓的頭上、臉上和身上。冰淇淋也弄到了John的襯衫、褲子和鞋子上。John和他的貓身上都是冰淇淋。他們很髒。他們需要洗澡。
