We combined the new words such as 中國人,中國貓,美國人,美國貓,白貓,黑貓,白人,黑人...etc. Since there are some students from other countries, so we also taught the country's name such as 烏干達,愛爾蘭,德國,日本,挪威,意大利。Later, we used the small whiteboard to practice these words. Next we practiced the vocabulary.

at the end we practice the vocabulary with vocabulary list with sheet protector on. Students were timed 3 minutes to write down the English meanings to each words. And then we timed how fast students could finish the vocab. If they couldn't finish in 3 minutes, we corrected the answer as a whole class and they studied for 1-2 minutes the vocab and then we timed writing vocab again. We repeated the steps three times at least.
Students who are able to finish the task with correct translation within the frame of 3 minutes, they need to raise their hand and said, "我好了。“ (I am done), and the teacher would tell her/him the time such as 1'02" or 2'45" etc.
Students who are struggling with time frame, after 3 minutes they had to write down how many correct answers they place, such as 21/40 or 36/40 etc.
