十一月二十九日星期四 November 29, Thursday - A Day

Chinese Level II and III we learned the following words-
早上 = in the morning, morning
中午 = at noon, at noon
下午 = in the afternoon, afternoon
晚上 = at night, night
先...再... = First... and then....
點心 = Snack
一...就.... = As soon as...., .....

We created sentences with 一...就.... and students shared their sentences.
After they shared their sentences we worked on the first page of a story and questioning.
Students worked pairs and read the 1st sentence and then use circling questions to ask one another.
 For example : 有一個男孩 他的名字叫Alex 
有一個男孩嗎?
有一個男孩還是女孩?
有一個女孩嗎?
有一個什麼?
=====
男孩的名字叫Alex嗎?
男孩還是女孩的名字叫Alex?
女孩的名字叫Alex嗎?
男孩的名字叫什麼?



For Chinese Level I students, today we only learned 2 new words 生氣 and 跑了. After the introduction, we used TPR/ASL reviewed the old words and we made flash cards with sentences.

生氣shēng qì = mad, angry
跑了pǎo le = run away

After that we played Binggo game with these flashcards (1st period). Last, students came up to the classroom to introduce their family in Chinese. We were planning to read the story and worked on the questioning but we didn't have time so we would do it next time.

十一月二十八日星期三 November 28, Wednesday - B Day

Today we learned 2 new words 生氣 and 跑了. After the introduction, we used TPR/ASL reviewed the old words and we made flash cards with sentences.

生氣shēng qì = mad, angry
跑了pǎo le = run away

After that we played Binggo game with these flashcards (5th). For 6th period students we read a story sentence by sentence; students voluntarily raised their hands and translated into English sentence by sentence.   Next they worked as pairs and asked one another the first 10 questions and answered it. Both period did the   family introduction in Chinese.

十一月二十七日星期二 November 27, Tuesday - A Day

For Chinese Level II and III, we only introduced 3 words today as the followings:
懶惰 = lazy
工作 = work
繼續 = continue

Students used the rest of the time to introduce their family members with pictures in the target language.
Today we have James, Brandon D. Tyler, Liam, Becca, Payton, Brandon B., Brayden A., Austin, Keegan, and Joshua W. did the presentation. They all did a great job. Interesting is Brayden and Austin are brothers but they have different opinions about the ages of their family members.
Today we learned some words such as 
看 kàn = look, watch
shū = book
看書kàn shū = read
xiě = write
zì = word/character

高興gāo xìng = happy, glad
指一指zhǐ yī zhǐ = point at
yòng = use
ná = take
jiǎn  = cut (with scisscors)

First, we used TPR/ASL to introduce the new words. After that we used whiteboard activities to practices these words. Next, we acted out a story with these words. Last, the students who haven't introduce their family in Chinese came up to the front and did the presentation.

nǚ hái bú gāo xìng 
女 孩不 高 興

nǚ hái ná jiǎn dāo jiǎn nán hái de tóu fà

女 孩 拿剪 刀 剪 男 孩 的頭髮

Today we learned some words such as
kàn = look, watch
shū = book
看書kàn shū = read
xiě = write
zì = word/character
寫字xiě zì = write (word/character)
高興gāo xìng = happy, glad

ná = take
jiǎn  = cut (with scisscors)

We reveiwed the old words with DaFengChui Game; and then students who haven't done their famiy introduction in Chinese did their presentation. After that we watched a video named IP Man 2 for 30 minutes.

十一月十九日星期一 November 19, Monday- B Day

Today we just learned a couple of new words, changing seatings, working on the app - BetterChinese Lesson 6 - 你家有幾個人 students only worked on Lesson's parts - Goals, animation - watching the animation at least 3 times, illustration - reading along the listening at least 3 times, and lesson text - read along the listening at least 3 times and finally that you get to the point that you may read the text without pinyin and immediately know what it means in English.
